Over the Easter weekend, a massive illegal rave near East Lulworth, Dorset, spiralled out of control as police clashed with around 2,000 festival-goers. The party kicked off with over 100 vehicles arriving late Saturday night, prompting swift police intervention. As officers attempted to disperse the crowd, they faced attacks from ‘missiles’, adding chaos to an already high-tension situation.

Dorset Police Assistant Chief Constable Steve Lyne highlighted the hostile atmosphere officers encountered, emphasising that violence against police or within communities is unacceptable. Ten individuals were arrested for various offences, including assaulting officers and driving under the influence. Additionally, crucial equipment was seized under public order laws.
Authorities, including Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick, thanked the community for their patience as swift actions were taken to manage the disruption. The event had a significant impact on local residents and visitors, but police efforts ensured it ended safely. The crackdown serves as a reminder of the risks unlicensed events pose to communities and the tough stance law enforcement will maintain against such disturbances.

As investigations continue, with evidence under review to identify any further offences, this serves as a wake-up call: illegal raves carry consequences, and there’s no room for violence or disruption in our communities. Stay updated for more details as the situation unfolds!
