Exciting transformation alert! A charming 1850-built chapel, nestled close to the stunning Poppit Sands in Pembrokeshire, is set to be reborn as a beautiful home. This historic gem in St Dogmaels, which stood unused for over 30 years, is now the focus of a thoughtful renovation plan.

Chris Jones and Sarah Lloyd have submitted plans to convert the former Capel Bryn Salem chapel into a unique dwelling. Their vision includes installing a new water system and making minimal changes to preserve the chapel’s original charm. The iconic structure, which auctioned in 2024, remained largely untouched, reflecting its solid condition—an ideal canvas for an adaptive reuse project like this one!

The developers aren’t just considering aesthetics—they’re committed to enhancing the community as well. Alongside adding to the housing stock, they’re contributing £9,825 towards affordable housing, proving their dedication to maintaining the spirit of Pembrokeshire’s development strategies.
Plans show a respectful update to the building’s appearance, maintaining its original character while introducing functional and stylish living spaces. Even the ‘upside-down’ design prioritizes maximum use of space, adding an attractive touch to this residence.
Supported by the St Dogmaels Community Council, these plans are now awaiting the final thumbs up from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park planners. Fingers crossed for this project breathing new life into a beautiful historic site, marrying heritage with modern living! 🏡✨
