๐๐๏ธ What a heatwave bank holiday! The sun was shining, and thousands seized the opportunity to hit the stunning beaches of Wales like Langland Bay, Coney Beach, and Rhos-on-Sea. But amidst the fun, a sad scene unfolded – litter. Loads of it.

Overflowing bins, abandoned barbecues, and litter scattered everywhere left both locals and councils fuming. Lee-Ann Thomas shared her dismay after visiting Langland Bay, saying it looked more like a post-festival wasteland than a beautiful beach. She even took matters into her own hands, filling nine bags of rubbish herself!

Among the trash left behind were drinks cans, broken glass, vapes, disposable barbecues, and takeaway containers. The real worry? All that rubbish could end up in the ocean. ๐

Locals and groups like Porthcawl Wombles are calling for solutions: more bins, strict fines, and patrols to tackle the mess. Some residents say itโs high time councils step up their game with frequent bin emptying and more facilities during peak times.
Opinions are mixed. Some say visitors should take responsibility and carry their litter home, but others argue councils need better infrastructures, especially on busy days.
Should more be done by councils during bustling bank holidays, or is it up to us all to keep the beaches clean? Share your thoughts below!
