🚨 A Shocking Smuggling Scandal Uncovered in the UK! 🚨
On paper, 26-year-old Dean Hussain seemed to be running a thriving business importing vintage clothing from the US. But reality paints a more sinister picture. Hussain was orchestrating a sophisticated smuggling operation, bringing at least 675kg of high-potency cannabis from California into the UK!
Using fake companies created with stolen identities, 28 shipments of “clothing” came in between December 2022 and January 2024. But hidden among the threads was Cali weed. Five shipments were stopped by Border Force, revealing nearly 130kg of cannabis with a street value of up to £3.7m! For the entire operation, the street value soared up to £19.3m!
So, who were the masterminds behind this operation? Dean Hussain was the ringleader, misleading authorities with numerous bogus firms registered with official IDs. He had accomplices like Jack Jackson and Mitchell Ellor, who are now on the run. Meanwhile, Prince Genesis Oyewo, Elliott McBurnie, Beverley Tsimba, and others had roles ranging from financial transactions to street-level dealings.
They used legitimate businesses as fronts and even paid for fake company registrations to keep the scheme under wraps. The network stretched from Rochdale to Leeds, and Warrington, with business addresses set up in unsuspecting places like Hebden Bridge.
Despite facing a tough personal history, Hussain’s illegal enterprise aimed to secure his needs rather than luxuries. However, as Judge Neil Usher emphasised, cannabis, especially potent strains like Cali weed, can lead to severe mental health issues.
Detective Constable Peter Martin commended the cooperative efforts between the police and UK Border Force. He highlighted the extensive damage drug supply causes to communities, stressing the relentless pursuit of criminal networks.
