In an alarming case of road rage, a driver in Swansea recently took a very dangerous turn. Robin Taylor, following a heated phone argument, mounted the pavement and drove at two women in Townhill. The shocking moment, described by a judge as “plainly and obviously dangerous,” occurred after Taylor spotted Deborah Saunders, with whom he’d had the disagreement, walking with friend Jessica Bevan.

In a reckless manoeuvre, Taylor accelerated towards the women, forcing them to the ground. His actions were witnessed by a passer-by who, despite Taylor’s rude “two fingers” gesture as he sped away, quickly noted down his number plate and alerted the police.

Appearing in court, Taylor, aged 45, confessed to dangerous driving—citing a “momentary loss of temper” for his actions. Though thankfully no contact was made and injuries were avoided, his behaviour had significant consequences. His record, which includes past offences such as driving without due care, factored into his sentencing.

Taylor received a 10-month prison term, suspended for two years, along with a compulsory rehabilitation programme. Additionally, his licence has been revoked for 12 months, requiring him to pass an extended test for future driving.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of keeping calm behind the wheel and how losing one’s temper can lead to dire consequences. Stay safe and think twice on the roads! 🚦🔍
