🏴 Newport has been dubbed Wales’ fly-tipping capital, with a staggering 7,318 incidents reported last year—63% more than pre-Covid levels!

Campaigner Michael Enea describes Maindee as being “under a sea of black bags and discarded rubbish,” urging the council to take stronger action. He suggests sifting through dumped rubbish to identify culprits using clues like addresses on bills or prescriptions, issuing heavy fines, and naming and shaming repeat offenders.

Newport council vows to tackle this mess, and the Welsh Government is backing efforts through Fly-tipping Action Wales. It’s time to clean up our streets and take pride in our community!
