🚮 Big Changes Coming to Recycling in Carmarthenshire! 🌱
Hey, Carmarthenshire! Get ready for a bit of a shake-up with your recycling routine. Our council is introducing a new system to help us recycle more efficiently and align with neighbouring areas. 🗑️🔄
Currently, all recyclables go into a single blue bin, but that’s about to change! With the new system rolling out from mid-autumn, you’ll need to sort your recyclables into FIVE different bags:
1️⃣ Blue Sack for Paper
2️⃣ Orange Sack for Cardboard
3️⃣ Red Sack for Metals, Plastics, and Cartons
4️⃣ Roll of Red Bags for Plastic Bags and Wrappings
5️⃣ White Sack for Household Batteries
Not to worry! Collection frequency remains weekly for recyclables and food waste, and your trusty black bags will still be picked up every three weeks. 🗓️
Starting soon, homes in the west of the county will be the first to make the switch, with others to follow. Flats, homes with communal bins, or those tricky for collection vehicles aren’t hopping on board just yet. 🏠
Expect a letter soon to let you know when it’s your turn. Until then, keep calm and carry on with the current system! 😄
With these new changes, glass bottles and jars will join the weekly rounds, too. If any of this sounds daunting, don’t worry! The council’s here to make your transition smooth with plenty of support. 👏
Remember, no changes for hygiene, nappy collections, or garden waste. So stay tuned, and keep an eye on your post for more! 📬
Carmarthenshire’s going greener one bag at a time! 💚✨
