🚨 Lloyds Bank Branch Closures Alert! 🚨
Heads up, UK banking community! Lloyds Banking Group has revealed plans to close 49 branches across the nation, including three in Wales. This sweeping move affects Lloyds Bank, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland locations from January to October next year.
While the shift towards digital banking continues, Lloyds assures that all affected employees will be offered alternative positions within the company. This closure wave isn’t an isolated event—last week saw NatWest announce the closure of 46 mobile branches, too.
Lloyds aims to keep banking flexible by providing access through their branches, Post Offices, and over 30,000 PayPoint spots for everyday banking tasks. Plus, more banking hubs are set to emerge, ensuring continued cash access.
Branches in Wales taking the hit are in Ammanford, Gorseinon, and Chepstow. After these closures, Lloyds Banking Group will operate 705 outlets, comprising 359 Lloyds, 269 Halifax, and 77 Bank of Scotland branches.
