🏉 Exciting times for Wales Women’s Rugby! After an 18-month hiatus, the incredible Alisha Joyce is back in action, bringing both her impressive skills and newfound perspective as a mum. 👶❤️

Alisha returned to the pitch just four months after welcoming baby Ralphie with her wife and teammate, Jasmine Joyce. Missing last year’s Six Nations and World Cup due to her pregnancy hasn’t slowed her down one bit. In fact, she’s more motivated than ever.

Ahead of their clash against Scotland at the Principality Stadium, Joyce reflected on her journey back, sharing how motherhood has transformed her life in unexpected ways. Balancing elite-level rugby with new parenting has been a challenge, but she’s embracing every moment and making it work with family support and rugby union assistance.
“The first three months were tough,” Alisha admits. “But once Ralphie settled into a routine, everything got smoother. Now, he’s my little sidekick!”
Returning to top form with Brython Thunder, Alisha hadn’t set a strict comeback date, choosing to let her body and family life lead the way. After proving her mettle in club training, her national squad recall was a pleasant surprise.
Her experience is especially valuable to the team’s newer members. Alisha’s thrilled to mentor younger players while demonstrating that motherhood and high-level sport can indeed go hand in hand.
“I want other players to see that it’s possible to juggle being a mum and maintaining peak performance,” she says.
With the next Six Nations matches on the horizon, Ralphie will remain nearby, surrounded by family, ensuring Alisha stays focused without being far from her little one.
The dream doesn’t end here—Alisha has her eyes set on possibly joining the first-ever women’s British and Irish Lions side. What an inspiration! 🌟
Join us in cheering for Alisha and the squad as they gear up for their opening match. Go Wales! 🏆🏴
