🎉 Big News for Welsh Labour 🎉
Ken Skates is officially the new leader of Welsh Labour!👏 Taking on the role after the latest elections, Ken has already been serving as interim leader since May. With no opponents in the leadership race, he secured unanimous support from Senedd members, making him the man of the hour for Welsh Labour.
Having joined the party at just 14, Ken’s passion for politics is deeply rooted. “I believe no child’s future should be determined by their background,” he shares. He’s dedicated to the Labour movement’s core values: fairness, justice, security, and liberty. It’s all about empowering people and standing against injustice and cruelty.
Following a tough election season where the party moved from being the biggest to the third largest in the Senedd, Ken has acknowledged the need to reconnect with the people of Wales. His summer plans include meeting with party members across Wales to discuss the path forward. Moreover, an external review will examine the election defeat to steer future success.
Ken Skates’ journey with Welsh Labour is one of commitment and vision. Let’s see how he leads the party in a new direction! 🌟
