A shocking revelation has emerged in a civil lawsuit from the US, accusing a man linked to a Welsh travel company of serious crimes. Joel Collier, 36, stands accused in the US of grooming and abusing a child who he allegedly met while working at a Salvation Army music camp.

Previously employed by Cardiff University, Collier later joined Evertrek, a Caerphilly-based travel agency known for organising trekking holidays. Described on their site as an “adventure expert,” his profile recently vanished after these accusations came to light. Evertrek has not disclosed whether they knew about Collier’s past before hiring him.

The lawsuit details disturbing allegations, claiming Collier groomed and sexually victimised a girl from age 14. The lawsuit also alleges discussions of explicit acts she was expected to perform once she turned 18, painting a horrifying picture of continuous abuse.

While the case is still unfolding, parts of the plaintiff’s claims against the Salvation Army in the lawsuit have been dismissed, while others remain. Collier has not publicly responded to these allegations.
