Keely Hodgkinson made waves at the World Indoor Championships in Poland, defying expectations and even her own coaches’ advice! The 24-year-old sensation secured the 800m title with a blistering time of 1:55.30, marking the second-fastest indoor time ever. It was a golden day for Team GB, with Georgia Hunter Bell and Molly Caudery also clinching victories, bringing home three golds in just under 30 minutes!

Despite dealing with injuries last year, Hodgkinson’s determination and rigorous training at the M11 Track Club have paid off spectacularly. Her unique approach, including extended cycling sessions during altitude training in South Africa, has sometimes pushed her beyond her limits—a fact her coaches keep a close eye on.

But Hodgkinson’s resolve didn’t stop at just her individual win. An hour after her 800m triumph, she stormed the 4x400m relay with a jaw-dropping 50.1-second split, leaving everyone in awe. Reflecting on her performance, she said, “I’m so impressed with myself. I knew I could do it!”
Her coaches, Trevor Painter and Jenny Meadows, recognised her incredible winter training put her in the best shape of her life, ready to conquer every track she graces.
Keely’s eyes are now set on the 800m outdoor record. As she boldly puts it, “Domination is my word this year. If you want to beat me, I’ll make you work hard for it.”
