🚨 **Illicit Rubbish Dumpers in Port Talbot Get Caught!** 🚨

Two men from Port Talbot have been slapped with tough penalties for repeatedly dumping waste around their community. Michael Quilligan (22) and Steven Gilheaney (26) found themselves in front of Swansea Magistrates’ Court for their reckless actions. These two used a loaned van to transport waste from a local supermarket and a Swansea address, only to drop it off illegally at places like the notorious “Old BP Site.”

But their misdeeds didn’t stop there. On another occasion, these fly-tipping enthusiasts left a trail of garden, construction, and household waste near Water Street in Margam. Officers even caught them dumping rubbish on land between Enfield Street and Borough Street in Aberavon!

The hammer of justice came down hard. Both men received Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) and 16-week suspended jail terms. Plus, they’re each saddled with over £1,460 in prosecution costs and must complete a 15-day rehabilitation programme. 🚫
The local council was quick to commend the Waste Enforcement Team for their diligence. Scott Jones, cabinet member for Streetscene, said the case highlights how seriously courts are taking these environmental crimes.
Remember: fly-tipping not only hurts our natural landscapes but carries severe consequences. Let’s work together to keep our communities clean and report any suspicious activity you see. 💪🌍
