A drug dealer’s downfall was sealed when police uncovered crucial evidence on his phone. Daryl Bees, 33, from Tonypandy, was caught with over £20,000 worth of cocaine and a trove of messages showing his dealings. Arrested in February, Bees faced Cardiff Crown Court where he admitted to possession with intent to supply and being concerned in drug distribution.

Despite his own struggles with addiction, the judge was firm, emphasising the dismay wrought by dealing Class A drugs. Recorder Greg Bull KC stated, “Those who deal in class A drug dealing deal in misery. You know how miserable addiction to class A drugs can be.” Highlighting the gravity of Bees’s offences, the judge pointed out the significant role he played in supplying drugs in the Rhondda Valley.

With a stern judgement, Bees was sentenced to 40 months in prison, underscoring the severe consequences of his actions in the community. This case is a stark reminder of how drug-related crimes can unravel lives—not only for the users but also for those who involve themselves in this illicit trade.
